Our little raised-bed garden is producing lots of veggies. I only put in one zucchini plant and one cucumber plant, but we can't even keep up with eating what those two plants are producing! I've taken to making lots of refrigerator pickles and double chocolate zucchini muffins. It's amazing how much food a couple little plants can produce! The pickles are really delicious and the muffins are a favorite of everyone, so we will enjoy the abundance while we can!
A momma bird built a nest in our rose by the garage. We watched carefully as the babies hatched and grew. Its amazing how quickly they go from tiny eggs to out of the nest. We missed the last week before they left because we were at youth conference. Here is the progression of the babies:
Cami and I attended a multi-stake youth conference at Delaware Valley College. Thankfully it was only about 10 minutes from home and the weather was perfect the whole weekend. With no air conditioning in the dorms housing all 600 people, we were more than grateful for mild temperatures. I was a chaperone for a group of 5 girls and Cami got to go to her first (and second) dance. The theme was "The Power of One" and the speakers did a great job conveying that message. We had a great time and it was a wonderful way to kick off summer!
Cami celebrated school ending at the Dalby's house where they had a water balloon fight and made a super long slip-n-slide. Welcome summer... we've been waiting so long for you!
Graduation day was wonderful. The ceremony was held in the brand new Patriot Stadium at East and the weather started off drizzling and in the 70s. Both sets of grandparents were able to make it and we enjoyed cheering for her, listening to her play the piano one last time for the East choir, and taking lots of fun pictures. Cami was in charge of ALL the pictures for the day and she did an absolutely fabulous job.
After the ceremony we enjoyed dinner at a Brazilian Steak house and some family time back at home. Again, congratulations Taylor! We love you!
