Last and First Primary Program

Today was Cami's last Primary Program.  She had a narrator role and did a wonderful job.  I can't believe we have almost completed our family's time in Primary.  Next summer Cami will be joining Taylor in YW.  It was also Zoey's first Primary Program.  She did her line perfectly and looked so happy and proud.  Nothing brings the spirit to the meeting like little children singing.  Great job girls!

Halloween Arrives Early

The spiders are invading!  I really am not fond of spiders and for some reason as the weather is starting to cool down they are everywhere around our house.  It is definitely worse this year than most and it freaks me out a little.  Don't worry though, we have our spray ready to create a barrier around the base of our house.

The other day we saw this guy at the top corner by our garage.  He built a lovely web above a light.  I wish I had something in the picture for size reference because he is one of the biggest spiders I've ever seen!  He also had brightly colored, striped legs and I just imagined him sneaking into my window.  Cami and I agreed that Halloween was coming early this year!

Awards

Ed has been working unbelievably hard at Clinical Ink.  It's not exactly easy starting a company in this economy.  Contracts are beginning to come and a few big deals are in the works (fingers crossed!), but days are filled with convincing doubters, solving problems, and keeping everyone motivated. Happily, over the last few months they have received several awards and have been recognized as innovators in the industry.

The first award was the Microsoft Life Sciences Innovation award.  They received it in recognition of their groundbreaking study with Novartis and the results were overwhelmingly positive.

The Second award was the Gartner Cool Vendor award.  Ed was really pleased with this one as it was great to advertise at summer conferences.

The last award was the biggest and came just a few weeks ago at a conference in LA.  They won the 2012 Data Driven Innovation Award from the Society of Data Management.  They beat some of the biggest data companies in the world in the finals (including Medidata).  The Emmy Awards were going on across the street during the conference, so they decided to give these statues as the awards.  Very funny.

The last award was a personal one for Ed.  I see all he does on a daily basis to keep the company moving.  He is passionate about what he does and has such an amazing vision for Clinical Ink.  He was chosen by Pharma Voice as one of the 100 most inspiring people in the industry.  This is the display they sent him for the office.  (See if you can find his caricature in the cover!)

We have seen real miracles during the process of getting Clinical Ink going.  We are so grateful for all the blessings and opportunities that have been placed before us.  I don't know how people start businesses without lots of prayer :)  I am truly grateful for a husband who has held true to his values and never puts anything before his family.  He travels a lot, but we know that we are the most important thing in his life.  I think great things are ahead for Clinical Ink and for the Seguine family.  I can't wait to go through them together.  Love you Ed!

How Did This Happen?

What is going on?  Why is my son graduating?  

Aaaaahhhhhh!

Ok, sorry about that... I've regained my composure.  What I meant to say was - doesn't my son look handsome?  Senior year has just started and everything is in fast motion already.  We are so proud of how hard Dallin has worked all these years and the rewards are beginning to appear.

On a lighter note, the nominations for his class yearbook awards are in.  Dallin was nominated for "Most Likely to Succeed" and "Best to Take Home to Mom and Dad".  He's a good example to his friends and classmates.  Did I mention we are proud?

Fencing Tournament

Dallin won his first fencing tournament!  It was small, but it had enough competitive fencers that it gave him his first rating - E.  He was really happy and I'm thrilled that he found Liberty Fencing and is enjoying the sport so much.  We're proud of you Dal!

Shooting

Our youth group went to the Bishop's house for a shooting activity.  Taylor had never shot before, but Dallin and Ed have several times.  Ed's first real job was as the CFO of a company that makes target systems for the military.  He has spent a lot of time with guns, but I'm not real keen on them, so our kids haven't spent much time learning to shoot.  I thought Taylor would love it - and she did.  There's always a little bit of competition between Dallin and Taylor, but we won't say who shot better :)

First Day of School

Here are the kids on the first day of school.  Taylor and Cami had to go the first day and Dallin joined them the second day (that's why Taylor is wearing a different shirt in the picture).  Cami is in 6th grade, Taylor is in 10th and Dallin is in 12th.  We had such a long summer this year and the kids were more than ready to head back to the classroom.  We've had a good start to the year and everyone seems to like their classes and teachers.  Happy School!
