Pulled Teeth

Cami had to follow in Taylor's footsteps and have two teeth pulled today. Her permanent eye-teeth are situated over the roots of her front, middle teeth. Because they are not over the baby teeth, the roots are not dissolving and soon the roots of her front teeth would be in danger (same story as Taylor). The solution is to pull the baby teeth and create a lane for the permanent teeth to slide into. It took Taylor two years to finally get them grown in, but it worked. We're hoping for the same for Cami.

Cami was very brave and didn't even shed a tear throughout the whole process. The roots were almost three times longer than the actual tooth and went almost up to her nose. She did end up with a couple stitches, but didn't complain. We spent the rest of the day curled up on the couch with ice packs and plenty of ice cream. I'm really glad it's over.

Weird Plant

I've had this plant for several years and it has never done anything. No new leaves, no change in size, nothing. All of a sudden it sent out this crazy shoot and Dallin thinks it is going to attack someone as they walk by. It does kind of look alien-like, but I think it's really cool.


Dallin also taught us an amazing fact about ferns. The swirling on the tip is actually a Fibbonacci sequence. How can you not see the hand of God all around us with such precision in even the tiny leaf of a plant?

Good Homemade Pizza... Finally

We have tried so many GF pizza crusts over the last few years. We have been disappointed every time. We finally found a frozen crust by Udi that allows us to make yummy homemade pizza. This may seem like a silly thing, but it's a big deal to us. Cami and I had a fun pizza night while Dallin and Taylor were at church.

Alienware

Dallin has been saving for almost a year for a computer. He mowed lots of grass, house sat, dog sat, and endured various other jobs dreamed up by his parents (aka: things we never want to do and are willing to pay anyone to do for us).

Well, the day finally came and his Alienware gaming computer arrived. It also happened to be the day a long-awaited video game came out. It was a very happy day. He has enjoyed getting everything set up and checking Facebook in the blink of an eye.

School Fashion

For the girls, what they wear has suddenly become more important this year. Cami has always spent time planning her outfits, but Taylor is usually a jeans, t-shirt, and converse girl. She has made a big effort to expand her wardrobe this year and has done a great job. Here are a few pics when I was particularly impressed.

Look Who's Back

We're so excited to have Zoey back three days a week. She brings two-year-old style to everything we do. Here she is enjoying her lunch with her fashionable cowboy hat. Yes, you must wear a cowboy hat to fully enjoy lunch. Surprised you didn't know that.

Labor Day Camping

We went camping over Labor Day with some friends. We had so much fun last year we decided to make it an annual event. There were lots of kids running free and the weather was cool, crisp, and decidedly fall. I've done more than my share of camping this year and felt much more comfortable than I did last year. We love having a few outings at the park, but mostly love just sitting around the fire talking and laughing. We'll be back next year!

First Day of School... Sort of

Alright, I have to admit that we were in such a hurry the first day of school that I did not get a picture of Dallin and Taylor. I've never done that before. It actually took me THREE days to get a picture of them! What is wrong with me? Trust me that they looked really good:) I did come to my senses by the time Cami was leaving for school and got some pictures of her.

Yw Sleepover

We're having fun using our new basement. It's designed for teenagers and sleepovers. I really miss the YW since I was released and sent to Primary, so I really enjoyed having them for the night.
