2. How long have you been married? almost 15 years
3. How long did you date? We met in January of 1992 and dated off and on until October of that year. In October we decided to date exclusively and were engaged shortly thereafter. We got married in May of 1993. So... about 16 months.
4. How old is he? 38
5. Who eats more? Ed
6. Who said I love you first? Surprisingly, Ed. But I knew first.
7. Who is smarter? Ed has higher IQ. I have higher EQ.
8. Whose temper is worse? Do you really need to ask? Ed
9. Who does the laundry? Me.
10. Who does the dishes? When he's home we split it, but I do all the pans.
11. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Ed sleeps on the right, but we have switched a lot over the years.
12. Who pays the bills? Ed. The only time I paid the bills was when I was the one working full-time and he was the MBA student. I can do it, but I hate it and it stresses me out.
13. Who cooks dinner? I do all the cooking. Ed doesn't cook at all.
14. Who drives when you are together? Ed
15. Who is more stubborn? Surprisingly, Me. I've had to learn how to admit I'm wrong over the years. I just don't have a temper, so it seems like I'm the innocent one most of the time.
16. Whose parents do you see the most? Hmmm... not sure now that Ed and Kathy live closer, but my mom visits a lot. About the same.
17. Who proposed? Ed. After forcing me to carry a mountain bike up a trail to a waterfall and giving me an ugly fake ring, I still said yes.
18. Who has more friends? Me
19. Who has more siblings? Ed is the oldest of six and I'm third of four.
20. Who wears the pants in the family? I hate to admit it, but Ed does. Although, I often tell him that he only gets to be the boss at work and we (his family) are not employees.

Fly a Kite
Due to Ed's emergency surgery on the first day of Spring Break, we didn't exactly get to do a lot of fun things. The kids were good sports and mostly kept each other occupied. One windy day they had a great time flying Taylor's new kite. The pictures aren't great, but the kite got really high.
Not Again...
However, I would prefer NOT to have any more this year with this attached to them.
We are officially DONE with ANY type of surgery in this family for the remainder of this year (at least).
Ed's company announced the sale on Monday. Tuesday everyone was very happy, except Ed started to have stomach pain late afternoon. By bedtime he still wasn't feeling well and I started to be suspicious. Every couple hours Tuesday night he woke up and I felt pretty sure it was his appendix. He got up at 5 am and tried to convince me that he could drive to NYC for the day and see the doctor when he got home. He did not convince me.
Due to many conference calls, we finally made it to the ER around 1pm. After waiting hours for a CT scan (finally happened around 7pm) we knew he needed surgery. The appendectomy happened around 11pm and I finally went home to sleep around 2am.
Ed and Kathy came to help with the kids the next day and I spent the day running between Ed's office (his computer and phone both crashed before going to the hospital - did I mention it was a bad day?) and the hospital.
The one bright spot was that it was NCAA weekend and Ed got to watch every game from the couch. He recovered quickly and is back to full steam. I am grateful it wasn't worse (the surgeon said he got it out AS it was rupturing) and hope to stay away from Doylestown hospital for a while.

We moved to Philly 3 years ago TODAY. This is why we came here and I'm so proud of Ed and thankful for all the opportunities we have had and look forward to having here.

People to People
Dallin spent last week attending a People to People World Leadership Forum. He had a great time touring around and learning about Washington, D.C., Gettysburg, and Williamsburg. He went with a friend from school, Tim, and made quite a few new friends while he was there. I did not send my favorite digital camera with him (he's responsible, but I just couldn't do it) so I'll post more pictures once we get the disposable camera developed. Here are couple of pictures from the general camera guy who traveled with them.
I asked him if he wanted to say anything about it on the blog and he responded, " Just say that it ROCKED." I'm glad to hear he had fun, because he sounded very tired every night when we got to talk to him for about 5 min. They were up at 6am and not back in their rooms until between 9-10pm. More to come when I get the pictures.

Conversations
Today I had two funny conversations.
First:
Phone rings.
Me: Hello
School Nurse: This is the school nurse and this is an informative call about Taylor. She was struck in the head by the closed fist of a boy in her class today. She is OK and the incident was unprovoked. The boy is being punished by the vice principal.
Me: (Pause...) Ahhhh, I see, a little boy has impulse control issues.
School Nurse: Yes, but it is imperative that it doesn't happen again. Like I said, this is just an informative call and I have another parent on the line. Goodbye.
Me: Uh, OK... Thanks?
Second:
Me: Cami, what was the best thing that happened at school today?
Cami: My teacher let us sit on our desks to wait for the bus.
Me: Wow, that sounds fun.
Cami: (Raising her arms and her voice) I felt SO ALIVE!!!

Happy 11th Birthday Taylor!
Taylor had a Scavenger Hunt Birthday Party. We took 11 girls to an outdoor mall and Ed and I each took a group to find 25 items. Did I mention it was raining? It was a lot of fun and the girls didn't care about the rain, they actually told me it made it more fun (how I'm still not sure).
Thanks for being such a great girl Taylor! You add so much fun and personality to our family! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
She really wanted a crimping iron for her birthday. Doesn't her hair look cute?
One of the things they had to do on the scavenger hunt was YMCA in front of a store.First Flowers
My first crocus flowers peeked out of the ground yesterday. I make my family crazy talking about the first flowers of spring and as I was pointing them out to the kids I drove right into the grass. When Ed got home he asked me what happened and I smiled and said, "I was looking at my flowers." He just shook his head.
