A Very Special Honor

During the graduation ceremony for 6th graders, Dallin received a very special surprise. The Librarian, Mrs. Danko, arranged for a special award to be given to him. She spoke a little about the friendship they had forged over the last few years (and over dozens and dozens of books) and said that he was "the highlight of her career thus far". We have been blessed with wonderful librarians in all the schools we have attended, but she really takes the cake. Even Dallin was choked up. It made a very special night even more memorable. Thanks Mrs. Danko!

Both afternoon kindergarten classes joined in singing the school anthem on the last day - it was VERY cute. Cami is in the lower left corner.

1920's Murder Mystery

As part of the celebration for 6th grade graduation the school had a 1920's theme luncheon for the kids. They all came dressed in period clothes and a troupe of actors played out the murder mystery while they ate. The concept was great and the kids had a great time, but let's just say the actors are used to a more "mature" audience.
They were supposed to be a mob family and some of the humor was questionable at best. I refrained from posting the picture of the 90 year old grandma dressed in a French maid costume (it didn't even come close to covering everything it should have) due to the "G" rating of this blog :)

Luckily, the Principal showed up and felt the same way I did. They won't be using the same group next year. I was relieved I didn't have to raise a fuss and wait for others to join me. Let's face it, there's nothing like a little east-coast mafia to celebrate graduation from 6th grade!

Dance Class

The end of the school year brought an end to dance class for Cami. She really enjoyed going each week and has decided to try Irish Dancing next year. We'll let you know if we find a class :) She definitely loves wearing the outfit and I think she was the cutest in the class!
