Happy Halloween

Here are a few pictures from our Ward Halloween party and our pumpkin-carving Family Night. (This is the first year Dallin decided not to wear a costume.)

Primary Program

Our ward Primary Program was last Sunday. Ed and Kathy came for the day to see the girls. Taylor played the piano for the song "I'm Trying to be Like Jesus" while Cami sang in a small choir. Taylor also played the violin for the song "I Want to Live the Gospel". They both did a great job! I was so concerned about not being late to church that I forgot to take a picture while they were all dressed up, but I got one later in the afternoon with Gramma and Grandpa.

Zurich and Madrid

Ed just returned from a trip to Zurich and Madrid. Here are a few pictures.

In Zurich they are competitive about who has the biggest clock. The one on the left was beat out by the one in the middle who was beat by the one on the right.

Isn't it cool that there aren't any super tall buildings blocking the view.

Zurich is a great place for Ed - he loves clocks.

WOW!

Taylor got this puzzle with her Gram over the summer. It has approx 750 pieces (most of which are gray and look the same) and is 3-d. She's had it out for months and has tried multiple times to get the rest of us to help. We always gave up because it was too hard. She got tired of waiting on us to quit whining and did it herself this week. Way to go Taylor! Never let the whining and complaining of others stop you from accomplishing your goal :)

It's Halloween...

We've been having fun this week really getting into the Halloween mood.

Halloween Party

We had the annual Seguine Family Halloween Party last weekend. This year we finally figured out the best way to host about 100 people and still enjoy it. We went to Winding Brook Farm and had hay rides, hot cider, s'mores, and lots of fun. There was no set-up, no clean-up, and no cramming people into my basement. Here are some fun pictures from the evening. (And, by the way, thanks to my wonderful husband for his patience every year as I embark on this crazy tradition that means so much to us all - I love you!)

More Guitar

New Tradition

Now that Dallin is going to Priesthood session of conference with Ed, I thought the girls should plan something fun. The only problem is that the session doesn't start until 8pm (for us on the east coast) and that's a little late for dinner and shopping.

So last night we got in our comfy PJs, watched a little TV and made the most delicious baked apple. We all agreed that this might just be a good tradition to carry on each conference.

Three Words...

I have three words for you:
Sleep Number Bed

We weren't sleeping well and decided to see what all the fuss was about. We received our bed a few weeks ago and I haven't slept this well since... I can't ever remember sleeping this well! My sleep number is 25 and I can't wait to sink into bed each night!

What's going on in there?

I heard giggling coming from Taylor's room tonight.
I knock on the door and say "What's going on in there?"
They reply, "Nothing."
This is what I find when I open the door.

Both girls are still giggling so I decide to leave well enough alone for the moment.

Guacamole

Jesse McCartney has a song called "What's Your Name". It's been out for a long time, but was playing on Radio Disney the other day. Taylor was singing along in the back seat when I thought I heard her say "guacamole". I asked her how the song went:

"What's your name,
what's your name, Oh
I really wanna know.
I like guacamole and
I want you all to know."

I don't need to tell you that those are not the words, but they are officially accepted in our family.

Summer of Frogs

This summer was full of frogs. I don't know where they came from, but we had lots of little frogs all over our yard. They would hide under bushes, burrow under landscape rocks, and in the nice cool mulch. Every day there would be a pack of kids running around the yards overturning rocks until they found a few. They would then create nice homes for them to live in and teach all the younger kids to hold them.

Every time I mowed the grass I would have to stop countless times to gather up the ones that refused to hop out of the way of the mower (I know it sounds stupid, but I just couldn't run over them if I saw them). At night, they would hop onto the blacktop driveways and sit under the garage lights waiting for bugs. Once again, I just couldn't run over them, so the kids would have to get out of the car and gather them up. It's getting harder and harder to find them now, but I'm sure they'll be back next summer.
