Hudson Singing

Hudson loves to sing when Taylor plays the piano, but he will stop as soon as he realizes someone is watching.  I finally recorded him while holding up my phone from the other room.  It's really cute.

Reading Olympics

Cami was a Reading Olympics Captain this year.  She read 22 books from the list and went to weekly meetings to prepare her team.  The competition was cancelled at the last minute due to bad weather and rescheduled for a month later.  They went against a tough team in the first round and thought they didn't have a chance at a blue ribbon.  However, they didn't give up and in an amazing comeback in the third round they pulled out a blue ribbon by one point!  I was so happy for her team and amazed with all their hard work.  Way to go Cami - we are so proud of you!

Universal Studios

We decided to spend one day at a park while in Florida.  We have never been to Universal Studios and since we are big Harry Potter fans we thought it would be fun.  We were at the door when the park opened and ran directly back to the Hogwarts Castle.  Harry Potter was a big part of our children's lives when they were young and has sentimental meaning to all of us.  We really enjoyed our time there and it was truly a little magical.

The kids and Ed went of some of the rides, but I can't seem to tolerate any roller coasters anymore and forget about the virtual rides.  We had a great day and found out that they are expanding the Harry Potter park in the next few years.  Maybe we'll head back when it's done :)  We also spent one afternoon at Downtown Disney and enjoyed walking around and looking through the Lego store.

Florida

We took a much needed trip to Florida for a little sunshine and warmth.  It has been a long, dreary winter and we were desperate for just a few days of heat.  Everyone was content to sleep, read and swim for the first two days.  We bought healthy food, enjoyed eating on the screened in porch, and watched cool Polynesian dancers at the hotel one night.  We really needed this weekend and enjoyed every minute.

Cami LAX

Cami has an awesome team this year.  The coaches are so good with the girls (thanks Eliza!) and the girls are nice to each other.  They aren't even the travel team and I can't believe how good they are.  She has made great strides in field awareness and ball movement.  She is even stronger than last year in passing and catching.  She's trying to figure out if she likes offense or defense and playing a little of both.  Taylor has enjoyed coming to watch and wishes she were running around on the field like Cami.  We have also discovered that she has some speed when she wants to turn it on!

RS Gardening Class

We had a Relief Society Gardening class for our activity this month.  We have some AMAZING gardeners in our congregation.  Shannon agreed to come along with her friend from a local nursery to give us some tips.  It was a great night and always fun (and entertaining) to be with friends.  I wish I had a vegetable garden - it's on my list for next year.  Last summer my flowers got a little neglected while I was working 3 days a week.  This year I'm going to get everything back in shape and figure out how to add a spot for veges.  Can't wait to get my hands dirty!
