Out With The Ladies

We decided to walk around town and get some ice cream the day after the game.  It's not very often all the girls get to spend time together. I love getting to spend time with all these wonderful women.

UCONN vs BYU

Since Haley goes to UCONN and there are so many BYU alums in our family, we just HAD to go up to visit and see the game.  It was so much fun to kick off the football season with a family rivalry... and a win!

Back to School Shopping

Dad and Buddy

Ed found these cans while he was at a conference.  He has always called Dallin "Buddy" since he became a teenager.  It's a joke about how Ed pretends Dallin is his "Best Buddy" and all his friends are automatically Ed's friends.  It's probably only funny to us, but when Ed found these two cans he had to take a picture and send it to Dallin.  They are actually on the ledge in the window upstairs in Ed's office.  He misses his Buddy.

Charlotte

We visited Dan and Trish and their family in Charlotte for a quick weekend.  We don't get to see them as often as we wish, so we take the chance when we can.  It was fun to catch up and relax in the screened-in-porch with perfect weather.  We are also BIG fans of the bakery we went to after walking around downtown Charlotte.  Thanks for having us!

Fall Flowers

I put together some bouquets full of flowers from my yard.  Fall flowers can be beautiful too!

Hornet's Nest

Taylor was mowing the grass when she brushed up against a bush on the side of the house.  She got a nasty surprise when hornets flew out and she was stung on her shoulder.  She ran into the house and Ed immediately geared up and went out to drench the nest with spray.  Thank goodness the little guys next door didn't discover it first - they could have been in big trouble quickly.  We did have the boys come over to see it the next day when we cut it open.  They thought it was pretty cool... and gross.

Emailing Dallin

We usually try to send a picture of us all around the computer while we are emailing Dallin.  It makes us all feel like we are together.  This is one of those pictures.

Our Other Kids Visit

Dallin's friends decided to come and visit before they all left to go back to school.  It was such a nice surprise to come around the corner after work and see all their cars in front of the house.  I actually started to cry.  I really miss these kids and they remind me of how much I miss my boy sometimes.

They made burgers on the grill and filled our house with laughter and stories from college and summer jobs.  It was wonderful to have them even for a little while.  Dallin was so proud of his good friends for remember us and can't wait to catch up with them when he gets back.

Bishop's Night

Not only were we three girls at camp, but Ed got to join us on bishop's night!  Getting to come to camp is one of the highlights of being a bishop.  The girls love the fact that it is impossible to embarrass Ed and he loves to make them laugh.  The fun games and activities all lead up to a spiritual meeting around the campfire.  These times are often the most memorable in these girls' young lives.  It is a privilege to be a part of it.
