Hudson finally arrived! We have puppy fever at our house and are madly in love with this adorable little guy! It is so much easier to get a puppy when you have an older dog to show him the ropes and play with him all day. We've had a smooth transition and are soaking in the short months of puppyhood!
We drove to Charlotte over the weekend for Carter's baptism. We've had quite a year of family travels and have really enjoyed every minute (well... not the stuck in traffic part after 8 or 10 hours in the car, but you know what I mean). It is so worth it to spend a day traveling to be at a baptism, sealing, or other family gathering. We're so grateful for so many loving cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandparents. We are truly blessed!
Carter is such a special little boy and we are so proud of him. We were glad to be able to share in this special day! Here are a bunch of pictures from the weekend.
Dallin and Taylor got some new glasses from Zenni. Dallin has been refusing to wear glasses or contacts for a few years now. He fails the vision test at school every time, but swears that he doesn't have any problems. Finally the nurse insisted that he pass the test at least once this year, so I convinced him to order some glasses.
They look great and after only one day of wearing them, he realized he can't see without them. Hmmm...
Anyway, they look great and I'm still a big fan of Zenni. The glasses are anywhere from $8 to $20 and they are delivered in 2 weeks. Just get your Rx from the eye doctor and order some fun colors!

I feel like Taylor had a 5-part birthday this year. We did a little celebrating/shopping in NYC, her friends from school got her some treats, we went to the Atkinson's for dinner (Taylor and Jim share the same birthday), they sang to her at church, and we celebrated a little on the actual day. Whew!
Leisha and Jim made a wonderful dinner and the kids had a great time playing together. They LOVED playing the candy game and singing before eating cake and ice cream cookie sandwiches.
Her actual birthday was on Sunday and the day was filled with meetings, choir, Trek fireside, etc. We did have time for a family breakfast and a few gifts. She is officially a teenager and hopes the next year is as good as the last!
My Friends Leisha and Megan came over to use the Cricut and cut quotes for our walls. I didn't do a very good job of taking pictures, but we had fun. Leisha cut a quote for her kitchen, "There is no love sincerer than the love of Food" and one for her library, "Goals are just dreams with deadlines".
Megan put the quote "In the cottage there is joy" above her fireplace. I put this one by Joseph B. Wirthlin above the door we go out each morning to remind us to make the most of each day.
Probably the last thing I want to see on my way to Seminary is one of these in the road:
The problem is that this guy jumped a fence, it was dark (5:45 am), and I was going about 35 mph.
I slammed on my brakes, he ran for his life (literally), and we both almost made it. I hit him on the right corner and knocked him into a sign, but he got up and ran off. The airbags didn't deploy and the damage was just a few cracks in the front grill.
There are so many deer here in Bucks County that everyone has hit one or two. Our poor Bishop lives way out in the country and has hit so many he's lost count. I'm just grateful that those antlers didn't come through the windshield and that Dallin and I were safe and sound. It could have been a lot worse.
